Since it's very evident how passionate I am about the Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha series from a two-second look at my site, I thought I should make my stance on the shipping side of the fandom clear, if only because it's a bit... well.

If it wasn't obvious from the title of this essay-slash-blog-slash-whatever this is, allow me to reiterate it: I do not support NaruRai. I don't support shipping Raidou with any of the other grown adult men twice his age that the DSRK fandom loves pairing him up with, either.

This should be a completely uncontroversial take, but for whatever reason half the fandom seems to be infected with some sort of brain fungus that makes them think it's perfectly okay for a teenager to suck face with his 32-year-old boss and now you can't go through five posts on sites like Pixiv or AO3 without running into borderline child porn.

The unquestioned popularity of NaruRai in the DSRK fandom is a serious cause for concern, and I'm tired of quietly ignoring it for the sake of "fandom etiquette." If you ship NaruRai, I think you're fucking disgusting and would rather you stay as far away from me as possible. And just so you know, if you try and justify shipping Raidou with Narumi or other characters like Kyouji the First/Satake/etc. by saying shit like, "well, ackshewally Raidou is supposed to be 18-19 so it's perfectly fine," you sound exactly like one of those creepy men in their 20s-30s who go on about "jailbait" and date high school seniors. I don't care if it's fiction, it's still gross.

Normally I'd put any sort of DSRK-related writing in my dedicated shrine, but I want that to be a place dedicated to the things that I love about DSRK, not whatever this shit is. So yeah fuck NaruRai end of story.
