A Life Update of Sorts

Hello all!!! I'm not really in the habit of blogging about my life, but I thought I'd fill you all in on what I've been up to since I kind of went AWOL for a little while.
First of all, I survived finals! I was super stressed for a while since I had like five major writing assignments due within a few days of each other, but somehow everything turned out fine. I actually had a really good semester, which feels great after having such a disastrous spring semester last year. Also in the realm of academics, I'm going to be applying to study abroad soon! I'm really nervous because the school I'm applying to usually gets more applicants than they can accept, but I'm going to be applying as early as possible, so fingers crossed that I get in!
Since I've finished school, though, I've mostly been spending my time bumming around doing fuck all while I recover from burnout and adjust to the complete and utter lack of structure in my day-to-day schedule. It's been driving me a little crazy because there are several personal projects that I really want to be working on right now, but I don't have the energy or motivation to come up with ideas for them. It hasn't been all bad, though. Now that my schedule's been freed up, I have time to play video games again, and I recently finished Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers! It was an absolutely incredible game, and while I didn't develop the same emotional attachment to it as Raidou Kuzunoha vs. The Soulless Army, they're definitely evenly matched as far as my overall enjoyment while playing them goes. Soul Hackers has really solidified my love for the Devil Summoner series, as well as 2D Megami Tensei games as a whole. Right now I'm torn between picking up the original Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner, Shin Megami Tensei II, and Megami Ibunroku Persona next. But RAIDOU Remastered's release is also right around the corner, so I might just end up waiting until that comes out.
Once I've settled in a little more, I'm really hoping to get back to working on this site regularly. I don't have any plans for new shrines or a total layout overhaul or anything like that, I want to keep the scope of things pretty small. The main purpose of this site has always been to serve as a place for me to dump a bunch of long(er)-form writing that I didn't really have anywhere else to put, and I've definitely got some plans in the works. For one, I'm some 3,500 words deep into a… manifesto of sorts(?) arguing that Raidou Kuzunoha is undeniably autistic coded that'll be posted to my DSRK shrine at some point. I've put that one on pause temporarily while I read through Shibito Ekishi, the Soulless Army prequel novel (oh yeah, I've also started on that), because there's a ton of evidence in there that I feel would be a disservice to exclude. I also want to write something about how the Western internet always gets so fucking weird about Japan, but I need time to organize my thoughts before I start on that. I've got a whole bunch of ideas on the back burner as well, like the essay I wrote for school about the use of kitsune folklore in DSRK that I want to repurpose for this site, and some smaller things tackling common indie web discourse like code copying and a general list of pet peeves. I've also been meaning to get back into writing fanfiction, but creative writing is always a struggle for me.
But yeah, that's about where I'm at right now. This website's far from dead and I've honestly been dying to get back to working on it. Hopefully it won't be long before inspiration strikes me again.
